I received my Usui Reiki Master* attunement in 2007. I have been practicing reiki for over 8 years with friends and family. I recently completed a Past Life Regression Therapy class and have studied leading experts, such as Dr. Brian Weiss and Dr. Michael Newton. I have been working with friends and family extensively since class completion. I just recently began offering both of these services professionally.
I also am the creator and author of the Keys to Joy blog. From this blog, I developed a Keys to Joy Workshop that I offer at various times and places. My Happiness Coaching came about as a result of the blog and workshop. I realized, through helping myself, the foundational value of these tools and use them every day for myself. I often wished I had a “coach” to remind and assist me when feeling stuck or mentally lethargic. Hence, the creation of my Happiness Coaching!
No matter what I am doing, I always seek the higher perspective. Asking myself – what can I learn from this, what does this really mean, or how can I grow from this? Sometimes I wish I didn’t “have to” look closer at myself or situations. But I have realized that this is just who I am. I can’t not ask such questions. I now embrace this part of myself and enjoy my personal and spiritual growth.
My disclaimer section: I am by no means perfect! I have made my share of mistakes and have regrets about past actions (still working on forgiving myself and others). And I still have down-in-the-dumps moments. But, they don’t last as long nor come about as often. Most importantly, when I do get in a bad funk, I don’t go to a hopeless place. I remember and use my tools- the same tools I use with clients - to help myself. So, I know from personal experience that they work!
I am currently working on a book about transcending the ego and being our true selves. I also have a Master’s Degree in Sociology. I live outside Raleigh, NC with my husband and dog. Visit my blog at www.keystojoy.wordpress.com !
